+ At the top of most screens is a toolbar containing various icons and
- displays. 
+ 
+ Time Icons
+ On the left hand side of the bar are four icons that control the flow
- of time during the game. 
+ 
+ <C5>Pause Time <C1>
+ The first icon is Pause. This pauses everything in the 
- game apart from you.  If you pause the game you are still able to issue
- orders at your leisure. When the time is started again, any orders
- you issued will be 
- carried out. You can also pause time by pressing the SPACE bar on the 
- keyboard.

* <C5>Slow, Normal and Fast Time<C1> 
+ The other three icons are, from left to right, Slow, Normal and Fast
- time. Moving the mouse cursor over the desired icon and left clicking 
- will select the speed of time. You can also change the speed of time 
- by pressing 1, 2 or 3 on the keyboard.

+ <C5>Credits<C1>
+ Next to the four icons that control time is the amount of money, in
+ credits, your empire currently possesses.
+ 
+ <C5>Date<C1>
+ The second figure is the date, shown in standard galactic format
- (YEAR: MONTH: DAY).

+ <C5>Message Bar<C1>
+ Next to the date is the message bar. This displays important notices
- regarding the game and notifies you of messages from other people. 
- You can read - messages by moving the mouse cursor over the message 
- bar then left clicking to access the message screen. Moving the mouse 
- cursor over the message bar and right clicking displays the last 5 
- messages you received.

* <C5>Fast Research<C1>
+ Next to the message bar is the fast research icon. Move the mouse
- cursor over the fast research icon then left click and hold to
- display a list researchable items. Yellow items can be researched, grey
- items cannot. Release the mouse button over the desired item to begin
- research.

* <C5>Changing Screens<C1>
+ On the far right of the bar is a small icon, which is used to select the 
- different screens. Move the mouse cursor over the icon then left click 
- and hold to display a list of all the screens in the game that you can access.
- Screens displayed as yellow can be accessed while screens displayed, as grey 
- cannot. Release the mouse button over the desired screen to access it. If you 
- move the mouse cursor over this  icon and right click, you will be taken to the
- Starmap.
